Traveling around

I'm visiting my dad and get to see his goofy habits again. He plays with his mashed potatoes at dinner with a drill. I meet a woman who is self conscious about a strain on her skirt by eventually learns it doesn't matter. I'm on a ship coming into port and there are oil stains floating in the water. I joke I'm like the court jester and ensure no one gets too angry on the boat. Lyn wants to join my close friend and I to go pick someone up but i don't want her to as she's very high energy. I eventually cave, but then go back and demand that she get out of the car because I did not invite her for a reason. I'd realized that by caving, I'd made a choice to work against my best interests.
