This must be the 4th or 5th dream I've had that relates to nuclear war. I can't remember what I was doing before it happened but I felt the shockwave and heard a prolonged "thump" sound from the blast although the entire house was still in tact. After seeing the mushroom cloud from a distance I knew what happened, I did a Google search and strangely there were only a couple of articles on the event, the rest were on common politics and sports. I saw an article saying that 6 nuclear devices had detonated from within the Hudson Valley of NY (where I live) which must've meant that terrorists were responsible. After seeing the title I heard jets and helicopters but my mind told me "these are US troops." Shortly after I saw another article saying that the US launched 1 missile in retaliation, which wouldn't make sense unless it was toward an isolated cell or a country that was indirectly responsible. Then my parents, stepmom's parents, and a random African-American man huddled into my room. I made sure that windows were locked and door cracks were sealed to protect us from radiation. After an uncounted amount of time, my stepmom's parents left so I thought it would be safe also. The detonations must've been small or several weeks ago because I suffered no adverse affects from driving with my window down. We all ended up in a lobby of some sort, and whether it correlates to the dream or not, a major news network was reporting that Brazil elected a communist president. The end.
