dreaming between dimensions via portal

Running along a very thin, narrow hallway/passage way. Then at the end a girl is standing under this machine with a spike on it. Then she vaporises with some electric/matrix feel. And then I go under it and I'm transported to another dimension. The machine must have been a portal. Each dimension had a task to complete, like stages in a competition- which is why I followed after that girl who was wearing leather clothing- through the machine/portal. It was as if she was also competing against me. In these different portals, there'd be an objective task to complete as fast as you can and then I'd travel back into the 'real world' under the portal and get "zooped" into a new dimension after completed the task in the previous.
