First lucid dream in a long time

I don't remember how I became lucid, it was a really long dream, but I remember flying around a lot of the time, I was able to ask a few dream figures what they represented, and met with a group of other guys who seemed to have been in this dream world for a long time. One of them talked about getting out, another of them seemed like he was crazy for wanting to leave. Every time the dream started to slip away I was quick to look at my hands and remind myself I was dreaming. Eventually it did slip away from me and I became nonlucid and ending up being back at my highschool classroom.

AI generated interpretation This dream carries rich symbolic and emotional layers related to self-awareness, freedom, and perhaps the navigation of inner thought or memory. Flying often represents a sense of liberation, empowerment, or transcendence—being able to rise above usual limitations or explore different perspectives. Your ability to engage with dream figures and question their meaning suggests a reflective, curious mindset, as if you are exploring parts of yourself or your subconscious. The presence of others who have been in the dream world a long time could symbolize different attitudes within yourself toward change or escape; one wanting to leave might represent a desire for transformation or new experiences, while the other’s resistance may reflect comfort in familiar patterns or fear of the unknown. The transition back to a high school classroom might symbolize a return to foundational aspects of your identity or learning, perhaps revisiting earlier experiences or lessons that still hold relevance. Overall, this dream appears to explore themes of control, insight, and the balance between freedom and attachment. It may reflect an inner dialogue about where you have been, where you want to go, and how you relate to your own sense of reality and growth.
