Grounded Bird's Nest

I drempt my grass was high. I started to cut the grass but realized there were three bird nest hiding in the high grass. I did not cut the grass to keep from killing the birds and destroying their nest. I reached down to pick up an egg in a nest and it turned black and the inside oozed out.
