Pretty Normal for Once

It started out cold. I stared out onto the extensive football field watching the colorful leaves dance in the wind around it. "A beautiful day for football!" An older man smiled at me as he walked by taking his seat in the crowd on the stands. The noise pierced through my ears then. Suddenly it all hit me at once. The smell of hotdogs, the sound of a large crowd with everyone talking and laughing at once, the distant sound of the marching band. The game was about to begin. "Here, I got us some hot chocolate." A cup appeared in front of me. I took it then looked back. It was Greg Sulkin. Not sure why he was in my dream but it could just be random. I smiled and said thank you and he motioned for us to head to the bleachers. We huddled close as we sat partly from the limited space and mostly from the cold wind. We watched happily as the band marched out, then the cheerleaders with a huge sign following them stating "WIN WIN WIN!" Next the football players came running through breaking the sign. The crowd erupted. Greg and I stayed seated. He placed his arm around me and pulled me closer. His eyes on the field and a smile on his face. --I don't remember the actually game at this point or even who won.-- I was called down to the field at the end. Handed a red rose and thanked by the team. For what, I couldn't tell you. Afterwards everyone seemed pleasant. The rivalry didn't clash as everyone walked out together. We all headed to the same restaurant for celebrations. Both teams and all those people. The line was out the door of people waiting for a place to sit and food. Greg and I walked right up to the bar area and was greeted by name by mostly everyone on our way. We didn't talk much. Mostly just sent looks toward each other. But for some reason we were just happy in the moment.
