I had a dream where my family was in the situation of the shining, only it was slightly changed. Me, my brother, my sister, and my mom were all at this nice house (which I think I remember being from a movie, it had a Secret Garden feel to it with lots of gardens out back and a long stony path that led sneakily through bushes and brambles into a cute yet mystical feeling white gazebo, and several of the bushes could be crawled into and had a hollow middle where there was like a space to sit and everything) but for some reason my dad wasn’t there. Well, he sort of was. My REAL dad wasn’t there, instead Jack from the shining was there, but he was our dad in the dream. I remember nobody had the shining or everything, but I had somehow become aware of what was happening. What I can remember starts off with me running out of the back of the house to find my mom and sister in the garden. They were crawling into one of the hollow openings inside of the bush, my mom was showing my sister how to squeeze past the branches, and I was super panicked/anxious. I yelled/screamed at them that we needed to leave, without ‘Dad,’ that he had gone crazy and the house wanted to kill us. They came out and were confused for a bit but then they realized we needed to leave when an axe fell from the top floor and almost hit me while we were still talking in the garden. Mom grabbed the car and started to drive off, we were in the middle of nowhere, when it suddenly started to get dark so she said we needed to stop and stay somewhere. A small farmer’s hut/house came up (still middle of nowhere) and we pulled up and there was this old farmer dude grinning at us and Austin and Lilly were there too, happy as can be. Grace and Patrick got out and started to play while mom asked the man if we could stay at his place if we paid. The dude was carrying a shotgun and was being uncareful with it and that’s when I realized the house was still trying to get us back, an ‘accident’ could happen at any moment. I get panicky again and start insisting that we leave and take Austin and Lilly with us. Mom eventually leaves and starts driving again when the man drops his shotgun and it fires, narrowly missing Grace’s head. In the car I remember thinking, maybe we shouldn’t have taken Austin and Lilly. The house could have them already and maybe they’ll kill us. Then I thought, they’re your cousins! Of course we should take them. We were still driving away when I woke up.
