Rag soup and Sergi's new shoes

As I walk through the kitchen, I find a pot of black beans on the stove. Curious, I take the wooden spoon to stir them and lift a filthy rag out of the water. I want to say sometime added it, insisting it was for flavor, but I wish they hadn't. Sergi comes downstairs to tend to the food and I realize he has brand new Keds. One shoe is totally black and the other is orange red. I tell him they look fantastic and wrap him up in a hug from behind.
