another country with struggling couple

So I am riding around with these two young people and in clips I saw the man selling a cord (the end was loose and exposed and you'd get electrocuted if you touched it). He was asking for (what sounded like) 40 pesos? Haha I only know about USD. Then the same guy lot a match to try to light some box ( maybe an electronic device) and throw it over a large ditch so it could hit something but the match completely went on fire rift as he lit it. Then, we saw a land bridge we didn't see. Then we all drove away in some rinky-dink truck, where I learned this couple had a child. I felt they were a horrible influence on the child with their behavior and how they talked to each other. Yelling or being mean with random bits of sexual talk... Messed up, they were, I felt.
