Sam and I were in our mini van, we were on Traprock Rd, heading south towards home. We had just past Lamppa's and there was a giant crater in the road, we stopped the car. I looked to the right, there was this smoky haze, and then I saw forest fire flames in the distance on Mayflower hill. I said look Sam there is a forest fire! And I repeated myself a few times before Sam understood and looked. Cars started to pile up behind us, one couple approached us. The question was on both our minds. "What are we going to do now?" "Drive up to Calumet and go around," I suggest. But we stay there, people gather in Lamppa's field and then an older gold colored car comes barreling through and we wonder if he'll stop in time. Thankfully he does. Two guys get out and sit in lawn chairs right at the craters edge, for some reason they have two laundry baskets of towels teetering at the edge. I yell for them to catch the towels, but out of the corner of my eye I see them push the folded towels in! I think to myself, "they just purposely pushed $100 worth of towels in!"
