Girl drowns in ocean

My daughter and her friends were gathered on a small peninsula like beach. One girl’s family was on a nearby island and she wanted to swim to them. I think I agreed it would be okay without giving it much thought since I was busy doing something I don’t remember. Then I’m alerted to the fact that she set out to swim to the island and could no longer be seen. So I look out and realize the island is quite far and it wasn’t reasonable for her to have attempted to swim. I said something like I wasn’t aware she had set off to make the swim and one of my daughters outspoken in rl friends corrected me saying I was aware and I had agreed she could do it. I was in denial over that fact and annoyed at the girl for exposing me at the same time. All the while I was worried for the girl in the water yet still preoccupied with this activity I was busy with but don’t remember. I was scurrying around doing something in a hurried manner.
