Let me start by saying I can not sing for the life of me. I have never wanted to or have tried to become a singer or even convinced myself that my voice is okay. I suck. Yet, my dreams think otherwise. I was standing off to the side of a stage listening as my name was introduced and the crowd softly clapped. It was a dimly lit bar with maybe 50 or less people scattered. No one was really paying attention to me so the pressure wasn't that much. I stepped on stage and the bright light flashed onto me. I was blinded for a moment. The music began then and my body swayed along the beat. I'm definitely a sucker for a good love song and Elvis has song of the best. It's not a surprise to me that I started to sing the words to "Love Me". I watched as the crowd slowly got into the music. Heads bobbing slightly, bodies swaying, and even a few brave couples slow danced near their tables. I honed in on one couple in particular. I didn't know why my attention was drawn. They sat across from each other in the small table but they leaned in as close as they could as if nothing existed between them. The girls eyes were on the boys eyes and his eyes on her lips as she spoke. She smile a sweet smile and place her elbows on the table propping her chin on her hands. I saw the guy nod in agreement and he motioned for the check from his waitress. My song came to and end and the crowd clapped more enthusiastic this time. My eyes were still on the couple watching them leave. I hopped off the stage and grabbed my jacket dodging people on the way out wanting to stop and talk. It was cold as I stepped out. The skies dark and the streets barely lit from the lamps floating above. I spotted them still. Leaning back into the darkness I followed them. Heading into a hotel I know my direct trailing had to stop there. I watched as much as I could but my vision stopped as they entered the elevator in the hotel. Waiting only 2 seconds before deciding I made my way around to the back of the hotel. From my jacket pockets I pulled out a pair of gloves. Slipping them on I slowly began to test it on the wall. They stuck. Kicking my heels out popped two plates at the bottom of my shoes. I began to climb the wall. As I approached the 30th floor of the building I looked down. Just darkness below me. I reached a window that seemed to be a dark room. Taking one hand off the wall I took the glove off with my teeth and stuffing it into my back pocket. From my hair I pulled a clip with one button on it. I pressed it and placed the clip on the window. It began to slowly cut through the glass. I popped the piece of cut glass out and stuck my hand through the hole to unlock the window. I jumped into the dark room as quietly as I could. As soon as my feet hit the ground the lights turned of and I heard the clicks of two guns popping into place, safety off. I looked up slowing. In front of me stood the couple. Guns toward my face. A loud bark I woke suddenly. Thanks to my puppies I won't know the ending of this dream.
