dream or memory???

I remember when I was like 8 and we lived in our hometown still (I've moved since then) I was sleeping until I heard rustling and woke up which I'm pretty sure was a false awakening. I looked around and saw ghosts in my dream which looked like the animated characters from adventures in odyssey (comment if you know what that is). They were nice and kept trying to talk to me which made me pretty dang freaked out. I just remember having this overwhelming feeling of being scared. I ran past them out if my room to my parents bedroom. Maybe it was sleep paralysis. Idek. If you do please enlighten me.
