I had gotten backing from a music company and was working on my first production project. There were 2 women who were helping me with the process. The song I had laid out was a banger and now I was looking for a singer and a rapper to finish the song. I had a boyfriend who was a good singer and I asked him if he wanted to be a part of the song. He indicated his disinterest and I moved on. I ran into my friend, Najee and he had somehow heard that I needed a rapper. He asked me if he could do it. In the back of my mind, I knew that even though he liked acting like he could rap, I knew that he couldn't. I told him that I might let him do the rap part and I left. I made my way back to the company and the 2 women who were working with me talked with me about the song. They then mentioned that Najee probably wasn't a good option for the song. I agreed. They then said that they had done some looking around and found a man to do the rap part. He came in and started practicing the rap in the lobby. I coached him on how I wanted the rap part to flow and where I wanted emphasis.
