It felt like a tv show I was watching. A guy broke into his fathers office with a gun, and was threatening the him and two other people there. There was a closeup of the gun when it went off, and then a rack focus that was timed with a sound or musical cue and I thought it was a great piece of directing. As the camera stayed on the smoking gun, audience wondered who got shot. It then cut to reveal that jack klugman as Quincy was the target, but I was very confused because all you could see was his face with a weird almost comical expression kind of wrapped in a towel like object, and then it was the end of act 1. I wasn't sure if there was an intermission so I stayed, and in the pause between acts turned out to be more like the pause between commercial breaks when the commercials are removed. (Just a fade out/fade in). When we came back Quincy was performing a heart transplant on the gun shot victim, using an exceptionally large heart as that was the only way to save him. At one point it was noisy and he demanded silence. A young Elliot Gould told his wife it was okay to serve only espresso after a meal a(not regular coffee) as everyone accepts it. When the patient woke after surgery he felt great because of the exceptionally large heart he now had.
