cabin cats

I was staying at this elaborate, cabin-style hotel with my brother and our dad. Dad was trying to make us stay in the room while he went to meet a client. He wouldn't let us go anywhere or do anything. My brother and I decided to sneak out and go to some sort of fair that was being held in the valley next to the hotel. We wandered around for a bit and had a lot of fun. Then this weird vendor gave us each a small, bean-sized kitten. They looked so small and sickly that they could break from the slightest breeze. That's when our dad came walking around the corner, looking for us. We bolted for the hotel, carrying the fragile kittens in our palms. Once we entered the building, we tried to find somewhere to hide, and we came across our aunt. She brought us into a huge suite where she and her family were staying, and she said we could hide there until my dad gave up. Out of breath, we settled into one of the dim, mahogany rooms and examined the little cats in our hands—afraid they were going to die.
