Journey Through The Swamp

I was walking from one place to another along a raised wooden walkway that traversed a swamp. While trying to cross a gap in this route I fell upon a gnarled tree which began at once to wrap me in its branches and absorb me into it's trunk. As I fought to escape a man came running down the wooden path striking the tree with a barrage of throwing axes causing it to release me. I have forgotten where I departed from and where I was headed.
