There were many immersive parts of the dream, but I have forgotten most of it. I was with Lou and some other peers from my past, as well as my mom. We were in some sort of committee planning a trip to China. Lou drew a poorly drawn map of China and labeled Shanghai (which we were going to visit) on the southern coast. He also labeled Beijing on the Eastern part of China. I labeled Hong Kong next to Shanghai. Anyway, we all arrived in “Shanghai,” except it looked like a typical American city. We went to a chain restaurant that was a spin-off of Trader Joe’s. I asked my mom what the place was since the logo had the same font as Trader Joe’s, but she didn’t know. We went inside and the fountain machine had a bunch of unique sodas. I sampled every kind of soda until I settled on my favorite one which was like the Captain’s Soda or something like that. By the time I finished sampling the sodas, the restaurant was packed with people going out on dates. I went to the cafeteria line in order to get food. For some reason, it was mandatory to light a match before getting your food. There were two white guys around my age who had an average light with their match, but when I touched the head of my match to the striking surface, the match ignited into a sizable flame that became the envy of the guys around me.
