The Night Porter

I sometimes have in my dreams what I refer to as a "Night Porter", someone acting as a guide into a certain kind of dream scenario. Sometimes I recognize them as being close acquaintances, sometimes not. Last night, my Night Porter led me to something that seemed like a dinner and people from my past continued to stroll by saying hellos. I was surprised they continued to recognize or think kindly of me. Eventually, it was a set of three brothers I was very close to when I was in HS. They seemed genuinely glad to see me. Then I cut into a steak that was really under done, this I think, symbolizing the friendship seemed unfinished or unresolved. They lived in a large city some distance away from me and I only saw them at times during Summer. It was like a visitation.
