It started out simple enough. I was excited to go onto a large spacecraft for a few years. So far only a handful of people occupied it but it was slowly getting more and more people on it. I didn't get along too well with those already aboard. They hated that I was a free thinker and questioned odd orders. Finally after a few days they even tried to kill me, so I ran. I didn't know the ship well enough to know where I was going. I managed to make it to the very top deck of the 713 floors. The view was beautiful. The moon and earth breathtaking. It stopped the others in their tracks too. As we watched we saw another large spacecraft go by. Not as big as ours, but more menacing. It was a war ship. And it had the symbol of the house of tides. The Qunari. We rushed back to the communication center to relay what we just witnessed and made to return to home. We were in a hurry to get hone and protect what we loved. We were slow, though. We had to be put into cryosleep because it was agonizingly slow. By the time we made it everything was in ruins. Our army not holding up well and even Covenant soldiers not doing well. I learned quickly the Qunari were not the ones controlling the ship I saw, but an army of highly trained, highly advanced soldiers so covered in armor you couldn't make out any details other than that they were humanoid. I transformed into my dragon form and took to the skies, carefully. There was some aircraft that I tried to avoid the attention of. I got on top of a large building, not quite a skyscraper. I looked below me and saw the destruction, and night was falling. It was the worst at night, they thrived in the cover of dark. I went to an alley and zigzagged through them. I found a covenant Elite who thought me a lost child and was prepared to give his life to protect me. He guided me to a manhole and into a sewer we hoped to hide out in till day. We weren't alone however. An invader was there, lying in wait. They fought hard and I was useless. The Elite barely one and we walked to a saferoom in the sewers he knee of. We hid and waited. None found us, and at dawn we emerged. Our men were not holding up well. I took to the skies once more as we had reinforcement. Men with jetpacks followed me to the rooftop to spy on the enemy as they ate their breakfasts. I kept trying to get closer, I got down and creeped up the alleyways, using my wings to glide quickly across the ground. When spotted they opened fire with laser weapons. I managed to make it to cover untouched and back to the skies. Joined by my brethren, fellow dragons trying to retake the city. I could only serve as a distraction. Never able to successfully breath fire in succession. Once here and there but no more. They would sweep down and breath their fire onto the enemy and I would rake my claws over them. They were quite sharp and did plenty of damage, but it was dangerous to get so close. Then I saw them, large mechs manned by the invaders rounding my men up in the skies. I don't know what was used to lure them but I tried hard to warn them. I even followed trying to warn them as I saw the mechs gear up for their own attack. They were going from group to group, spraying a mist in the sky and lighting it on fire. I saw my brethren fall from the sky as they burned to death. Still I tried to snap them out of their trance. Finally the group I was in was approached, I dropped quick and hard, feeling the heat behind me as I barely avoided being engulfed in flames. By this point I saw only a dozen of us left, at most.
