violent waves

I was walking across dunes that lead to the beach and got to the other side of the beach where I assumed a party was. The surf went right up to the wall and I was thrown into the water but I made it out. Two men had their backs to the cliff wall and we're letting the water hit them. The waves were getting worse and one friend was having trouble finding an opening in the waves to run to safety but he finally did and we ran up the slope and out of the area. I kept running to the other side of the beach across the parking lot and then I turned to see giant 3 story high waves.
