The dog's paw/Not in California

I remember holding a dog's paw here. I finally was able to get a dog and though there was something wrong with him at first, with his paw, he's better now. He's a huge fluffy dog like a husky. At one point, I'm driving down expansive road with my friends, like an empty highway. In the distance, we see mountains like those in California. I told them New Jersey has mountains like this too. I'm not sure if I'm telling the truth or not. When I wake, I have this strange comfortable but restless feeling. It's like I met someone I loved in that dream and I can't remember them anymore.
