I went out to dinner with one of my best friends. I ultimately like her but I knew I couldn’t give the circumstances so I planned later in the night to say something like “I really enjoy our friendship”. Even though I said that, things kept progressing. I drove her back to her house and we kissed in my car. I pulled away saying we can’t go this far again, not with the current circumstances but she said it was ok, so things kept progressing. The dream shifts then. I’m hanging out on a Main Street of a town. It’s closed off to cars because there is some celebration so there are people everywhere. I’m hanging with another girl and it is super obvious we both like each other, but no one wants to make the first move. We sit down on a park bench and she cuddles up close to me and says, “do something so I know…” I pick my arm up and wrap it around her. We had never been that physical yet so it was a big move. Later we’re at a pizza shop and we’re having fun. I’m confused though, I don’t know if I like her because I like the idea of dating someone or if a truly like her. This confusion leads me to accidentally say something mean along the lines of “I think we should just slow down” but it came out really harsh. She the walked away furious and sad and I was lonely and disappointed.
