Fwb turned into charming gentleman

So in the past this guy has been a total asshole but 15 years goes by and I decide to un-block him from Facebook and decide to talk to him again to see if he changed or if I could get better closure. And he starts up this conversation saying how sorry he treated me and that he has changed into this better man and that while I cannot ever see him again romantically I can at least be his friend and it was a nice dream to have. But when I woke up I realized that would never happen in reality.
