Running man?

All I can remember is me wanting to run away from home so I joined a "circus" which was only ever in parades. I was on a parade float once and I saw my dad standing in the crowd so i ran. Then i remember my dad driving me away from someplace as fast as he could in a red convertable and once we had a few miles behind us I turned to look at the road, and i saw a man running faster than we were driving, and he caught up with our car and started talking to my dad then he ran away.
