I was friends, best friends, with this guy named Razia. He had almost pure black hair and dark eyes that could captivate anyone. The only problem was that he wasn’t all human. He had a dark side to him. That dark side is why only a select few have been able to get close to him. Kruz, Myst (myself), and one other...but she died a couple years ago...and we don’t talk about her.     Kruz, Razia, and I were all in the food court at some casino place. It was late, the best time for us.     “Come now Raz, one prank won’t kill anyone.” Kruz said as I finished my food.     I could see the markings appearing, which meant Razia’s dark side was showing. I handed Kruz a handful of tokens for the slot machines. I then grabbed Razia’s hand, dragging him towards one of the darker areas of the casino.     “Razia, are you still with me?” I asked him.     The markings vanished and he nodded. He kissed the top of my hand and gave me a weak smile. “I’m glad I have you around Myst. You’ve always been my strong point.” he whispered.     I let go of his hand and calmed myself a bit. I had taken in too much of the poison from his dark energy. “Thanks Razia, but I’m not that special.” I told him.     Razia shook his head and pointed to a mirror near us. “Look for yourself, smiley.”     I looked in the mirror and saw silver markings on my face that made me look like I was smiling...kinda. Though I also looked like I was bleeding from my eyes. Then the markings just vanished.     “That’s what happens when you take some of my poisonous energy for yourself.” Razia whispered.     I smiled a bit. For once feeling like I had accomplished something.     I was running through the casino chasing a little boy that looked like someone I knew. When I finally caught up to him I ran into a young man. He looked almost exactly like Razia except he had pale yellow eyes. He grinned at me as the little boy hid behind him. I felt drawn to this young man.     “Who are you?” I asked him.     “I’m Orikus, who are you?”     “Mystery, but I’m called Myst.” I answered, unable to tear my eyes from his. It was almost hypnotizing.     “Myst eh?” Orikus questioned as he stepped closer to me. “Such a lovely name. I hope we can become great friends.”     “Only if you can deal with being around monsters.” I whispered as Orikus just smirked.     “I know a lot on monsters.” He whispered.     Razia came between us at that moment and I could only imagine the dark expression on his face.     “Leave her alone brother.” Razia growled as I felt his dark aura surface again.     “I will for now.” Orikus said before vanishing in thin air.         Razia and Orikus were both chasing after me now. In my arms was the little boy but now I knew his name. It was Marik. We were in a vehicle being kidnapped by a couple people and being taken to a vampire Breed & Feed. Basically to either be turned or to become food. Neither is good.     Marik was clinging tight to me in our shared room. We were hiding from the vampires of this Breed & Feed. I was doing my best to calm him down. It had been two weeks of hiding and scavenging. No one had come to save us.     “Myst?” I heard a woman’s voice call.     “Rave?” I whispered.     The young woman came in the room. She was the only vampire here that cared about anyone. She’d also become my friend.     “Take this you two.” Rave whispered as he handed over some bread and an apple.     “Thank you.” I said as I gave Marik the bigger portion.     He started chomping down on the apple. He looked about seven.     “Your blood, there’s something different about it.” Rave said.     “Yes, I come from a line of poison stealers.” I whispered, “I can take the dark energy from the most evil creatures and purify them.”     “But at a cost.” Marik piped up, “She ends up exhausting herself. The more poison, the more tired she gets.”     “I thought so.” Rave whispered, “And you used it before you two were brought here. On someone with a lot of dark energy.”     I just nodded. Marik drank a bit of his water and went to sleep on my lap.     “You and that boy need out of here. I can help.” Rave said.     “At what price?” I asked her.     “I’ll need some of your blood to travel in daylight.” Rave looked at the scar on my arm, “I could open that.”     I held out my arm for her. “If Marik can be safe then I’ll do whatever I can o help.”     Rave bit down on my scar and drank some of my blood.     Rave led me through some underground tunnels as we headed to freedom. Marik was asleep on my back. We kept walking quietly through them, listening for any noises.     Rave, Marik, and I were above ground now. We were surrounded by angry vampires who had tracked us. They were on all sides. We were trapped.     “Coming through!” I heard a familiar voice shout.     Suddenly Rave had covered mine and Marik’s eyes.         Razia and Orikus both knelt before me as I held Marik. We were all in this clearing in some woods.     “Thank you for protecting our brother Myst.” They said in unison.     I smiled, finally understanding why Marik had looked familiar. “You should really thank Rave.”     Rave smiled from the shadows in acknowledgment.     “We thank you as well.” They said.     Marik was still asleep on my back as if nothing had happened.     Orikus took Marik from me as I went over to Razia. He was sweating a lot which meant he was fighting back his dark side. I could see the markings all over him and wanted to cry.     “Razia?” I whispered.     He looked up at me and I could see so much pain on his face. I sat down in front of him and placed a hand on his cheek.     “Don’t worry. This won’t hurt you at all.” I whispered as I stole the poison of his dark energy and felt myself slowly get drained once again.     “Stop Myst. That’s enough.” Razia whispered shakily.     I stopped and felt a little dizzy. Razia pulled me to him as he slowly got up. I siled and kissed his cheek. “Thank you for always being by me.” I whispered.     He had a very slight blush and just nodded.     “It’s only fair that he return the favor Myst.” Orikus said.     I smiled at them, still a bit dizzy. Razia lifted me into his arms, princess style, and we headed into the woods towards the little cottage we all were staying in. We all went to our rooms. Rave and I in one, the boys in the other. All of us headed to sleep. It was then that I awoke.
