It starts at the top of the stairs to my parents’ basement. There is a big closet in the wall on the left with a sliding mirror door. You have to stand on the stairs to use it but I thought it was still very convenient. The basement was huge. I was going through to see if I had anything down there to take with me moving. I came across two different media centers with big but very old TVs, attached to shelving filled with DVDs, VHS tapes, and CDs. I looked through both to see if there was anything of mine. Then I discovered a movie room, the TV was huge and spanned from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. I remembered my dad would come down here as a child and watch football games with friends. A door on the side opened up to a bar. I was becoming so jealous and also felt angry that no one in the family came down here to take advantage of any of this stuff since my childhood. I noticed that at least in the bar room all the bottles had been removed. There was a huge, empty wood & glass cabinet for storage that looked very expensive. I wished I could have it. After that I saw a beautiful hand painted wooden armoire and another hand painted wooden cabinet of drawers. This prompted me to find my dad. I asked him what it says in his will about furniture. I told him I wished I could have some of these once he and his wife are gone. Secretly I wished I could have them now since they were sitting down here abandoned and ignored for 15+ years. My dad pulled a copy of his will out of one of the top drawers of the cabinet. He flipped through until he found the clause on furniture. He said the furniture goes to nobody, they stay with him and his wife. “What?? Like you’re going to be buried with all this stuff?!?” I asked, confused. “Yeah I guess so,” he responded but it was clear he also did not think the clause made any sense, but that it was final and had to be accepted. I then noticed stairs and realized the basement had multiple floors. I could see from the bottom of the stairs looking up that the other floors were also filled with expensive antique furniture. There were also huge closets everywhere filled with extra clothes being stored like old coats and old suits. I started to feel extremely angry and jealous.
