A pool of water against a brick wall, a platform leading into various caverns. Pipes over and across the water and along the brick walls. Some were lounging on the platform with their legs in the water, others enjoyed the water, or sat on the larger pipes. I myself was running along a brick wall with the help of a rope tied far above. I was considering jumping into the pool, but not until I had enough airtime. My jump had to outshine the other boys. But the elders started nagging me to come down. They never liked it when I went anywhere up high. Tired of it I pushed off the wall and into the pool, splashing those nearest with water. We were all enjoying ourselves relaxing and having fun. Except for the elders, always on high alert. I never understood why until moments later. I dove under the water with my eyes open trying to spot any fish. When I came back up disoriented, I heard shouts. At first I thought it was the other boys but clearing my eyes of the water I saw the elders heading into the caverns, weapons in hand. That's when I first realized something was wrong. The head elder was looking frantically around, until he laid eyes on me. He rushed over pulling me out of the water.
