I was driving around town. Things were going OK until I reached a red light and the car wouldn’t stop. I started freaking out and lost the ability to drive properly. It’s like I lost the ability to tell what was going on around me. I was barreling through lights and stop signs, weaving into oncoming traffic. I had to swerve at one point to avoid hitting a family at a crosswalk. Somehow I avoided having the cops called on me. Eventually I made it back home with no damage, but I was shaken up. A few days later, a local journalist called me. I guess he’d found out who I was by my plates, and he sent me a link to a video that someone had taken of my driving and posted to YouTube. He was like, “You understand why some may find this footage extremely upsetting. Do you have any comments to make about this?” I hung up the phone and hoped the whole thing would go away.
