bad murder mystery

my mom was suspected to have murdered a vip (basically her fiance or husband or something but he was a very bad person). but my mom was not always my actual mom sometimes it was like a celebrity woman although idk who right now, but always around her actual age we went to a funeral that was called the "state" funeral and so we thought maybe she would end up being taken away but it turned out they had no evidence against her, it was all circumstanial. so they actually ruled her innocent here and asked her to film a small mini series or something about it all. and she did and got paid for it too. we drove through other states and had to go to the national funeral next. at one point i was driving with someone who was eating snacks while driving and making me drive while she was making a left turn into a gas station on a reallyyyy busy road where both cars were passing and pedestrians so we were waiting to actually turn into the gas station for a looong time and then the moment there was a large opening she's just sitting there munching chips... lmao and so i reach over and try to get her to pay attention and she does get through but it was really awkward at the national funeral the mom gets asked to film for a big huge hollywood movie about it... and so i keep seeing dead bodies like waterlogged and there teeth bulging out in oddd ways and they would tap in weird ways when they spoke and two waterlogged bodies were talking to each other like zombies and then because a director's "cut!" is yelled that's how my brain keeps plot twisting it to just be a fake movie but tbh i feel like maybe it was doing that bc i hate that stuff. my brain is kind of a jerk no? anyway then we drive off in fancy car in a place that seemed like california city road but it was green so maybe it was in like winter time and we (my siblings and i) guess that maybe the mom gets away with it bc it turned out she actually did do it and we knew she did. but instead they figured she must just be a victim and the killer is still out there on the loose idk lmao. (Spoilers about Where the Crawdads Sings below) (i think maybe my brain was stealing from the plot of where the crawdads sing... i hated that book but mainly just bc i felt like it wasn't set up well for what the reveal was at all and it felt like a cheap and lazy way to say "i got you with a twist!" when there wasn't actually much forethought or proper set up for said twist. i also find it stupid that her husband didn't know that whole time. basically the ending ruined it all for me lmao. and the guy whose murder was being investigated didn't have enough backstory nor character so it made it cheap again by being like "oh people do bad things back then just like now but there's no real reason why, most people just suck and every now and then there's one that comes along that doesn't but he kinda does since he's also predatorial and also an abandoner and apparently an idiot who doesn't even know his own wife but at least he's not a rapist! like wtf... bad book sorry, i hated it lol. i just think it had so much more potential to be actually good but it reads more like an experimental sandbox book)
