I joined a government agency that allowed civilians to help identify and capture wanted criminals. They were usually ceos who were being sleazy; we weren’t given many details. As usual when it comes to these agencies, secrecy was a top priority. I could tell my family the basics of what we were doing, but that’s it. I told my sister I was joining it and by the time I saw her next I’d been initiated and been on two missions already. I don’t specifically remember what the missions were but I know it was an adrenaline rush and that I did well. My boss praised me for my work and I was so excited to tell my sister I was doing well, but when I told her I’d already been on a few missions she got really upset. She said I lied about when I was getting initiated and that I should’ve told her when I was going on a mission. I don’t think I made her feel even remotely better when I said that I didn’t have the time to tell her because it was just one after another. Next thing I know we’re leaving Walmart and I get a notification to start looking for a suspicious person inside of Walmart. I told my sister I had to go but she followed me back in saying “I won’t stand around waiting to pick up your dead body.” I told her “That’s not really your choice anymore. It’s the government’s.” I guess I got her to leave because we caught a suspect and took him in. The next notification I got said that we didn’t catch the right guy and that we were now looking for my sister’s real dad. I didn’t know how to tell my sister about it, but she wasn’t exactly talking to me anyways.
