Alternate Reality?

I have another dream that reoccurs sometimes. This dream is very realistic with a few things that seem dream-like. In the dream it’s me with a bunch of people I don’t actually know in real life, but in there we were all close friends. Every time I dream of these friends were always doing something different but there are a few similarities. We live in a town that’s kind of small but there are lots of things that are run-down. For example, on one dream we were playing on carnival grounds that had very old and rusted rides. The paint was sun bleached and chipping as well. In the most recent dream there is a river that flows through our town and there was a carnival ride boat floating down it that for those descriptions and looked to be in the shape of Lapras from Pokémon. Also, in my dreams, someone is almost always trying to hurt or kill us, however we always all escape. Once again I don’t know these people in real life but I feel a deep connection with all of them as if they are real. What if it is an alternate reality?
