Climbing culture

Women wade into the water of a beach at night, looking for a hidden giant cube. I am climbing a red rock hill with a friend. Near the top, we spot someone looking at us. They fire an air gun at us, and we hide behind some rocks. A drone is flown to spy on us. I catch it and break off one propellor blade with a stone and let it go. It flies and comes back. I keep breaking off one blade at a time. Eventually we climb up the mountain to see the people. There’s a tiny model of the White House. This is on the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. We meet the people at the top, two men and a Dominican woman. We’re a man and a woman. They are climbers, but the woman is planning something. They’ve built camp at the top, despite signs saying to keep away. We have a small boat at the top of the mountain that we sail down to the water below. Someone else has a ship that dives into the earth like a mole. We sail along rocky cliffs for a bit. There are many climbers of all ages. We hoist the ship to the very top of a narrow metal tower and climb down. There are pathways through the rocks. It feels dangerous to me. There is a sign in Dutch warning of a broken step. An outhouse floats in the waves. We climb back up the tower. Inside it’s been turned into makeshift living quarters. Some are temporary, others permanent. It’s a long climb. There is some intrigue that the woman’s and one of the men sometimes disappear for hours, and we think they’re planning an explosion to get the hidden cube. I climb to the very top. We need to leave, and decide to sail outlet ship up to a space portal. We fly in the right direction, but it’s been consumed by an enormous vine 10x thicker than a giant tree. As we wait past the tree, there are wires and pipes to follow. Eventually we run out of supplies and have to back up the inside of the vine, looking for more. One of the men appears to sacrifice himself, but has a rope harness to save him. That’s the dream. The climbing culture is the part that sticks with me the most.
