Southern Guy?

I'm sitting on the porch to a building and I'm eating popcorn. He asks if he can have same. I say yes, but only if I can have some of his cabbage, and he said "sure only if you don't pull and tricks well I get the popcorn. He hold onto me and walks across the porch to the bench, " I promise. No tricks" I said with a smile. And he walks away to get the popcorn and I start to fill up a bag with an even amount of cabbage as the popcorn I was giving him. He comes back and sees, and I said "see, you can trust me" and we both smile. He said "some of them are more ripe then others so if you start smelling some funky cabbage you probably wanna throw it out" I giggled
