My mind reinventing the past

My mom saved all of her valuable photos and videos on a flash drive. The flash drive turned up missing. My mom was becoming hysterical. I took my dad outside and had to act comforting and nonjudgmental so he would confess. He admitted that he threw the flash drive in the lake. As soon as I got the confession I gave up my act of being understanding. I told him he was a horrible person. I had to go tell my mom the horrible truth. I couldn't stand to see her cry. I had to be comforting and soothing.
