Cold Case with Claws

I was cat investigator. My buddy was a wolf investigator. We had cracked a huge case -- a child who went missing years ago had been stolen and was being raised in a secret house hidden in the rafters of a small, remote church in a forest. We broke into the secret house where the captor and her "daughter" lived, and we looked for confirmation of our theory that it was the same child. Then they came home, and we had to make a quick and stealthy exit.
