phew. this is gonna be a long one. i actually had an entire separate dream prior to this one involving my family, but i can’t get this episode out of my mind. as most of my dreams do, it began in my ~dream~ high school. a majority of my school dreams involve me missing classes, failing tests, arguing with teachers, and sneaking around a la metal gear solid. but this one felt different, and was even more saturated in color. it started with me walking into a classroom i’ve never been in before. it was a cubical room where the walls were all giant blue-tinted windows, and inside were various exercise and mechanical equipment. i mingled with my classmates for a lil bit before deciding that i was bored, and that i wanted to meander around the hallways, as usual. i realized that i felt incredibly stressed, with a pit in my stomach and the feeling of wanting to cry. i ventured down the corridor of guidance counselor offices where i spoke with a secretary for a minute. i exclaimed how it was total bullshit how i had to do my senior year of high school AGAIN because of an error on the school’s end, AND i had an even worse gpa than the first time around! she clicked her tongue and said, “well, at least it’s over.” that was NOT the validity i was looking for whatsoever. i felt tears beginning to sting my eyes and as i stormed off, my bangle bracelets were caught on an open filing cabinet. in my frustration, i yanked them through the metal, causing them to snap. this made me even more upset, and i stomped down the hallway, mourning my broken bracelets and mulling about the unfulfilling conversation. i eventually made it back to the big blue room, where i saw my classmates spilling out excitedly, buzzing about graduating and never coming back here again. i saw a few of my actual high school teachers walking up and down the hallways, sharing congratulations with each other and with the students. this made me feel even more horrible, and so, i walked and walked and walked, until i found an area that i’ve never been in before. i’m usually quite familiar with my dream high school layout, but this was completely new to me. it was a large corridor that lead into what felt like a common living room area, with a long, wooden table in the middle of the room. to my left was a circle of grungy couches in front of a flat screen tv, and to my right was a small kitchenette. i was going to continue walking by, until i noticed an open door. i peeked my head inside and was amazed - it was an entire dorm-esque room that was as tall as a cathedral. the walls were a soft purple, and my little pony posters hung upon the walls. they were all of characters that i didn’t recognize, definitely original characters of the owner. these posters covered the walls all the way to the very top. other bijou littered the room, like glowing lanterns, art supplies, fluffy carpets, and a biiiiiig comfortable-looking bed. i examined the room for a good 30 seconds before i noticed someone sitting on the bed inside! they were androgynous, with short black hair and a petite figure. they were wearing a flowy blouse and regular ol pants. i immediately apologized for snooping, and let them know that i thought their room was beautiful. “i love how tall the ceiling is. i’ve never seen anything like this in the school!” the room owner simply smiled, not saying a word. i asked them if they had a tumblr (????) because i felt like i had seen their room on their before. they nodded their head. it was then i realized that they weren’t gonna say any words to me. i thanked them for their time and was about to depart, but they jumped off the bed and handed me a note. it was ripped out of a lined notebook. the handwriting was sloppy, but readable. they gave me another warm smile and they walked back into their room. i don’t remember specifics, but the note itself read: * you are GOOD LUCK when appropriate, and never for other people * cats are GOOD LUCK for you * be careful of **** (i forget what this said :( ) * something about going into forests and dreaming * there were a couple of other cryptic sentences, almost poetic, that i couldn’t decipher i felt the note in and of itself was good vibes, and i put it in my pocket. as i finished reading the note, i realized that this common area was now FULL of people. they were all about my age or slightly younger, with strange hair and faces. like, eyes too big for their heads, and everyone had dyed hair or scraggly clothing. i felt that they weren’t quite human, even though they all had the appearances of one. (looking back, i am certain they were fae using glamour spells, which thoroughly excites me.) what happened next was an utter whirlwind of introductions. a girl with messy plum shoulder-length hair grabbed my shoulders and directed me around different areas of this common area. as i peeked into open doors amongst the corridors, i found very peculiar bedrooms within. one was black and red with walls covered in test tubes, potion bottles, and blood. another had the scent of pine needles, and within was a calming forest scene, featuring tons of cute stuffed animals on the bed. i also recall a sky blue room that appeared so lighthearted and beautiful, but gave me a feeling of dread within my stomach. i ended up interacting with about 20 different people. i don’t remember most of them, so here’s a quick rundown on what i DO remember: * the excited boy. i ended up wandering into a room that was directly connected to the common area, after going up a few stairs. rather than having a wall disconnecting his room, he had a little ledge, where you could peer down and see the giant wooden table about four feet below. i complimented his taste in media (pokemon and anime posters were on his walls, and he appeared to have a nice self-built pc). this is when he seemingly drifted towards me, quite fast, and grabbed my shoulders tightly. he had a big smile on his face and he looked me right in the eyes. he looked the most human out of everyone here - just a regular, skinny, nerdy dude with big brown eyes and messy black hair, in a tshirt and jeans. our faces were like, two inches away from each other, and he asked me excitedly, still performing a vice grip on my arms, “sooo, since you’re a fan of technology and everything i like, do you want to go on a date?!” i laughed and felt awkward, and quickly denied, explaining that i’ve been dating someone for four years already, so i’m not interested. “aww,” he pouts, loosening his grip, “maybe we can be friends then?” i agree to that and he smiles wide again, before spinning on his heel and going to talk to another dude who was chilling on his ledge-wall. * the pixie cut girl. immediately after this moment, i felt someone grab my hand. i look and it’s another slightly-human girl, about my age. she had a forest green pixie cut and a denim jacket on. she had scraggly teeth and a pointy nose - very triangular and pointed features in general, actually. she asked me about the note in my pocket. “can i read it?” she asked. i completely forgot about it at that point, and as i was pulling it out, she explained, “yeah, *** gives people fortunes sometimes. i’m curious to see what yours said!” i handed her the paper and i said, “i feel pretty good about this fortune, then. it seems positive!” after pixie cut girl looked it over for a few seconds, she looked at me with a confused smirk and asked, “what’s positive about this? seems scary to me.” i re-read the note and agreed that it could look a little frightening, i guess, but i always like hearing that good luck surrounds me. she didn’t say anything else, and walked away. * the plum girl. while most of these people were petite (or muscular), there were a couple of effeminate folk who had curvy body types similar to mine. the previously-mentioned plum-haired girl fell under this category, perhaps also being a little plump like myself. she was the person i spent the most time with during this adventure. after my back and forth with the pixie cut girl, she appeared in front of me with a few humans. “what do you wish for?” she asked. everyone was silent and staring at me with their big ol eyes. “uhh...” i faltered, feeling a little nervous. that’s quite a question to receive! “i guess... i wish for peace in my life, and for everyone else involved. and i wish for clarity of my intuition, and i wish for a happy future with my boyfriend, with tons of animals. and i wish for creativity, endless creativity, but never too much where i become overwhelmed.” they all smiled and clapped politely, appreciating my answer... i think. plum girl took my hand and we seemingly teleported to a forest trail. i mean, kinda teleported. it felt like a really, really fast walk that i can’t remember. when i looked over my shoulder, a HUUUUGE tree stood in a clearing. everything felt a lil blurry here, but i felt safe. as plum girl and i walked down the path, still holding hands, she explained to me that this was a dangerous area full of pollutants and nuclear waste. “you have to be careful to not divert off the path, or else you’ll mutate, just like everything else here,” she mused. i took a closer look at my surroundings, and it all felt quite... normal? like any other beautiful forest path, with an abundance of healthy greenery and an endless sky of fully bloomed branches. but then, i looked down at my feet, and noticed very strange creatures watching us from the outskirts of this dirt road path. there were cute little creatures, as tall as a small cat, that had deer bodies, but platypus heads. “aw! they’re so cute!” i exclaimed, pointing at one of them. plum girl did not slow down and did not react to my glee. i noticed strange, large insects, unlike anything i’ve seen before, as well as other homunculi, like half snake/half salamanders, half wolf/half ... something else. “are all animals, like... half-n-half here?” i asked. “not all of them,” she said solemnly. the dirt path turned a bit rockier at this point, and we were jumping up and down over stepping stones and mini boulders. suddenly, i heard a gruff voice behind me. * the half boar/half horse. “hey!” he grunted, galloping towards us on all fours. this creature was stout, with a boar face, horse body, but little stubby piggy legs. it was incredibly muscular and a bit unnerving. he was the largest creature i’ve seen so far, with his ears reaching the tops of my calves. “what are you doing here?” he demanded with a deep voice, getting closer to us. he didn’t seem angry, just territorial. plum girl did not react to his bellowing, and, in fact, began to quicken her pace. her hand tightened around mine and kinda started dragging me along, as i was so curious about this strange creature! he eventually caught up to us and was to my right side. he had a brown and grey hide and a naturally grumpy face, and two large tusks cascading down the sides of his snout. “she’s showing me around, i guess,” i respond, reaching out my hand to pet his head. “don’t—“ plum girl starts, but it’s too late. he clamps his molar-like teeth around the tip of my pinky finger, and holy FUCK does it hurt. i yelp and attempt to pull my hand back, but he has quite the grip. i’m afraid he might actually pull my finger off, so we awkwardly create a three-being parallel conga line. we’re still speed-walking, and plum girl looks very determined to get the hell out of here. eventually he loosens his grip and i snap my hand towards my body. i must’ve looked offended, because the boar thing sneers at me and says, “when did i ever say you could pet me??” and attempts to snap at my hand again. “leave her alone,” plum girl asserts, pulling me closer to her. we’re practically jogging now, and boar dude can easily keep up his pace. “why isn’t he attacking you??” i ask her. “because he’s used to me,” she responds. at this point, i notice a barred fence-like door about 20 paces ahead of us. “you’re lucky you’re her friend,” the boar thing says to me, with an unpleasant gleam in his eyes, “or else you would be all mine.” we finally make it to the door, and plum girl practically pushes me through it before following behind me. as she slammed and locked the fence closed, the boar creature began grunting, oinking, and attacking the door viciously, gnawing at the bars and drooling blood everywhere. plum girl does NOT look pleased, and she shuffles past me without saying a word. i stare at the boar for a few seconds longer and decide to leave. i realize that we are back in the commonplace room, with a few humans staring in a shocked silence. after a few seconds of realizing that the beast is contained, they return to their hearty discussions and loud laughter. it feels like happy hour in here. the boar gives one more hearty tackle to the door before disappearing. before continuing sequentially, there’s a few other people worth mentioning. * the dude-bro. i was surprised to notice in the sea of awkward-looking art students, there was one dude who looked very out of place with his backwards cap, tank top, basketball shorts, and jordans. he was very muscular and was one of the tallest people here, probably hitting around 5’8” in height. he did not look very friendly, but always appeared to be having pleasant conversation with everyone around him. his laughter was loud and jovial. every time we locked eyes, i would feel sapped of energy and confidence, and he would glower suspiciously. i never approached him. * the sweaty nerd. another masculine fellow (there was a distinct female-to-male ratio here - far more feminine beings littered this place) who had a similar stature to the excited boy mentioned previously. this dude had greasy jet-black hair that covered his eyes, protected by rounded glasses. he wore baggy clothes that were too large for his frail figure. i always noticed him hunched over his notebook, writing furiously. i don’t even know if he noticed me at all. for some reason, i instinctively knew that he owned the creepy red and black bedroom. wait, i have to go for a bit. i’ll write the rest later. there’s TONS more to cover. like most of my dreams, this one spanned over several hours. i’m shook honestly, and i hope i can return here again. (the next part will have explicit content, ooh la la.)
