Chasing the Hen

I don't remember much but my family and I were at a party (and by party I mean the typical large Latino family gathering) and I think I was the hostess. Or at least helping the hostess by entertaining the guests. My dog was there being his silly self when a hen came out. No one, myself included, really paid attention to the hen. She was part of the family apparently. So she was just chillin' and walking around until she came up to my dog and started to bother him. Then she started to make a fuss with the guests. I looked at the hen like an angry mom would and she went somewhere else. But the little rebel decided to hop on the buffet table and knock down all the food. I got upset because now I had to clean it up just when people needed to talk to me. But as I stood up, I got really angry at the hen. I told her she's going to be punished now and chased her into the house. The chase was very dramatic; I remember shouting all kinds of things about discipline and respect and stuff. I sensed my mom, who was nearby, getting embarrassed. Anyway the hen was trying to hide under tables and chairs until I got a broom and corralled her into the living room. I yelled, "You get a time out!" As I said that, my mom came to the window saying, "What are you doing inside? Come out here and talk to these people. There's someone I want to introduce you to." This is when I started to become aware of my dream. I got annoyed at my mom because she wanted me to put aside my parenting (yes, I was parenting a hen) to socialize, as she does in real life where she forces me to socialize at parties and such. I told her to wait because I was dealing with something. She left and I approached the hen. There was a stool near the corner so I put the hen there for time out. I don't think anything happened after. I just remembered feeling how warm the hen was.
