My physics professor decided to hold an exam at the last possible second. I got there as quick as I could, but everyone else had already started. They were all walking around some hills as they filled out their test forms. The professor told me to get started with what little time I had left. I quickly realized that something was amiss because the other students were using a packet I didn't have. When I pulled the professor aside he explained that everyone had been emailed the packet. I frantically scrolled through my phone’s email app, showing him that I never received such an email. I was nearly in tears at this point but he just kinda stared at me blankly. ”You know, I have a strict policy against giving exemptions based on students’ failure to be prepared, but maybe I’ve been too harsh, ” he explained monotonely. ”Here’s an extra packet. Go sit down and do your best.” I took the packet and stood beside a nearby hill, trying to gather myself enough to at least make a decent attempt. By the time I opened the first page the sun was starting to set. I couldn’t even focus because I could hear a bear off in the bushes beside me angrily snorting. It seemed the more frustrated I felt, the closer the bear got. Pretty soon I had broken out into a sprint just trying to avoid being killed while my professor looked on, unimpressed.
