Genetically Modified

Me and my friends were living on the run from this company, but we didn’t understand why they were after us. We ran far away out into the snowy mountains and built a couple of buildings that looked more like very large shelves with stairs and decks on the outside. Like a bunch of old time train cars stacked on top of each other but made from wood. We also built a center meet up place that had entertainment and television. Eventually more people started showing up, who were also on the run from this large company. Me and one friend had been running the whole mini town we have created and were in charge of getting supplies for everyone. People from my school started showing up including teachers. They were in need of refuge from this company also and we provide them each with a room with a bed and a lamp and a cabinet. Somehow me and my friend figured out the company was doing something with breeding and there were animals that were genetically modified and then released into the general public areas. We heard of a bright white lion with blue eyes being released and being a public menace, so we went to catch him. Animal control had caught other animals too, including German shepherds, farm animals, and dolphins. We decided to take these animals in as our own and use them against the company. We started building up more resources, and we also got more people and animals who fell victim to the company. Me and my friend had created a meeting area, and brought everyone in to decide we were going to hunt down and expose the company. We would start by gathering weapons, and then going to the company headquarters when everyone would supposedly be on winter break. We even had the animals trained and used as pets and we would bring them along too. My friend had formed a special bond with the white lion. It was always near her and she slept with it at night and petted it like a cat. The night of, we all stood in the meeting hall going over our plans to infiltrate the company and we had come to realize we had all grown close, and were afraid of losing each other. We eventually went off to the company complex. The company parking lot was empty and we were relieved. It gets a bit blurry here but we sneak into the building by disabling the security cameras. There are robots and other test subjects set up as traps and we fight them. My friend fights side by side with her white lion. We saw a glass room toward the top and we thought it looked important so we ran up towards it breaking into different rooms, gathering evidence of wrongdoings, and finding information on what had been done to us. When we got mostly to the top room their was an elevator we had to take but it turned out to be a trap as it rapidly jumped up and down but I was able to press the open door button. We had to jump at the right moment to get to the big room. The humans made it but the german shepherd couldn’t make the jump, and instead jumped to a nearby ledge where we couldn’t get to it. One of the people in my group cried but I reassured her that our animals were pretty smart and he could probably find a way out. We found out they had taken our DNA and some of us our mating cells and breed something else in the presence of them and a high energy source, which would somehow infuse someone else’s DNA Into the thing being bred. The company had been releasing the animals because it saw them as “failed experiments” because they were either not the result they wanted or ended up with extra chromosomes. We grabbed the papers and stuffed them in a bag including records of our people having cells forcefully taken from them without their consent. We freed all the experiments and started to make our way out of the building. Our people were piling out of the building in droves but me and my friend knew the company would have started to catch on to something suspicious by now and would be sending people. Me and my friend had taken some genetically modified sausage from the fridge as evidence before we left. We were the last people to leave because we wanted to make sure everyone else was safe. As we were walking out the side door though some cars had pulled up into the parking lot, including the CEO. Our people had already left so we tried to sneak away quietly into the snow covered woods, but they saw us and gathered us up. I quickly shoved the packaged sausage up my shirt and pretended like I didn’t have anything. The CEO started to question us outside and ask us who was involved in ransacking his business center. Neither of us spoke and we were afraid we would be hurt or killed but we wouldn’t dare expose everyone back at our camp. The CEO saw that my friend had a sausage in her hand and took us both to the fridge to put it back. He didn’t see that I had a sausage jammed up my shirt because my hoodie was baggy and they couldn’t tell. Sadly enough that’s where the dream ends.
