It’s my wedding day and I’m waiting behind my bridesmaids before we all walk down the aisle. My eyes scan the ceremony area to see who showed up and to make sure the decorations are all set up correctly. The venue is a lot prettier than what I remembered. It’s a barn-like building with glass walls and it actually has a proper aisle for me to walk down (unlike my real venue). I look down at my feet to find that I’m still wearing the sneakers that I had worn to get ready earlier this morning. I can’t believe I forgot my shoes. I think about anything else I may have forgotten and realize that I’m not wearing my veil either. I decide that I can’t walk down the aisle like this, so I run back to the bridal suite. On my way there, it begins to drizzle. About halfway back to the suite, I see Mrs. Reddy (my third grade teacher) standing outside in the rain. I stop to say hi to her. She recognizes me right away and congratulates me on getting married. I tell her how happy I am to see her and give her a hug. She tells me that she’s happy to see me too, but she seems upset. I ask her what’s wrong and she tells me that she’s just been fired. I’m shocked and upset by this news. I look behind her and see that she has a bunch of boxes packed with her classroom supplies. I tell her that they’ve made a big mistake and that she was always one of my favorite teachers… I’m back in the bridal suite now. I find my shoes and veil and grab a book (it might be my vows, but Blane and I are not writing our own in real life)… I make it back to the ceremony and get behind my bridesmaids again. I look at everyone in their dresses, which are all satin and sage green with small flower and vine print all over the fabric. I look around to see where my dad is, since he’s going to be walking with me any minute. While I look around, someone walks up and tells me that Josh isn’t here and that someone will need to fill in as our officiant. Sarah Shifflett, who is in a bridesmaid dress (she isn’t in the wedding in real life) volunteers. I agree to this since she’s been in so many weddings. Everyone begins walking down the aisle, but my dad still isn’t here. I continue on without him. When I make it to the stand, my Aunt Bridget is standing in as our officiant instead of Sarah. I scan the rows of guests for my dad, but I still can’t find him. I walk over to Renee, Caity and Mellina, who are all sitting in the second row, and ask if they’ve seen my dad, but they say that they haven’t, to which I respond “What the heck is going on?? I feel like everyone is missing and everything is going wrong!”… It’s cocktail hour now and everyone is in what looks to be the lobby of a hotel. I find my mom and Alex and ask if they’ve seen my dad anywhere, but they haven’t either. I squeeze through the crowd of people to look for him again. I find an empty corner of the room and check Life360 to see where my dad might be. I see that he, Nicole, Aunt Nancy and Nana are driving toward the venue and look to be about 10 minutes away. I’m so upset at the fact that most of my immediate family missed our ceremony.
