Rafa is in the hospital (at Saint James on the fifth floor, step down ICU; these places do not exist anymore). He has a large room with double doors. My mother is there and Enrique is visiting, he looks the way he looked at 30. Outside the weather is really bad, it is raining a lot. I am running from one place to the other...I am very young, and thin and have incredible agility. Enrique comes in and out of the room....he wants to leave but he does not want to leave. Apparently Rafa is going to be discharged. We have to confirm that. I go to the nurses’s station and this TV actress from the seventies is sitting there (Charo). I pretend I know her and go say hello to her with great familiarity. She is dressed in blue and looks good but her neck is very wrinkled. Evidently she does not recognize me but pretends she does. When I go back to the room Rafa asks about discharge and Enrique is still there. My mother is packing . I go back to the nursing station. There are two women there with a lot of make up on and bad haircuts but they give me a good explanation about why Rafa needs to stay in the hospital and show me a big bag of fluid and antibiotic they have to run through his bladder. I run back to the room and tell them. Rafa is upset but he looks strong and healthy . Enrique asks me if I saw the chocolate treats he bought me ...there are chocolate cookies and tablets wrapped in pink in a zip lock bag. My mother is getting things ready for us to leave. Enrique will be leaving with us and he is happy but Rafa is upset.
