dream trance

i'm standing in a large crowd in a ballroom of some sort. everyone around me is facing the same direction, partying and clapping and singing. everyone seems happy but i'm looking around and slowly start to realize that something is wrong. people have tears running down their faces, they're stumbling like they're exhausted, grimacing in pain, etc. like they're in some kind of trance and can't stop. there's some kind of trigger word that breaks the spell and everyone's memories slowly come back. everyone looks around and recognizes their loved ones,, they had come for a party a long time ago (like weeks or months) and had been trapped here ever since. they all start to panic as they realize what happened when suddenly this magic man standing on a pedestal at the front of the room does something that renews the spell and the party starts again
