Gas Station Horror

In this dream, I was like a supernatural investigator studying places that were allegedly haunted by spirits. I had a partner with me but I can’t remember their gender. Our research had brought us upon a gas station down south in the country. It was a tiny gas station attached to a raggedy small home. When we entered, we noticed the gas station was extremely cramped. No music played, and it was very dimly lit. We talked to the clerk up front to get her input. The clerk was an older black woman. She told us that most of the reported activity occurred near the restroom in the back. She told us that customers and employees usually feel an ominous presence watching them. They’d feel an extreme discomfort. She assured to us tho that, although she’s felt a presence, it was never ominous. To further explain that, she called upon two other employees also older women 1 black 1 white. When we asked, they both responded nonchalantly about the presence. Saying yes He’s just apart of the [gas station] family. We then asked “who is He?” The clerk responded by guiding us towards the back. As we approached the door a younger woman was coming out the restroom and she looked clearly rattled. She scurried past us hugging herself tightly. As she exited the restroom, we saw the back of the door slowly shut. On it was a very grotesque painting of an older white male. He had on a red plaid shirt blue jean overalls and a hat. His hair was medium length. He had leathery skin and chilly blue eyes. Customers vandalized this painting and added maggots around his lips and outlined his eyes more to give them a more piercing look. The painting immediately struck fear inside my heart. I couldn’t look at it too long because my stomach would sink and my head would get hot. The clerk explained that apparently the man in the painting was once alive and he was related to the gas station either an owner or kin to the owner I can’t remember. She informs of though that when was alive he was very much so a kindred spirit and liked to have fun and used to partake in family shindigs in the other part of the gas station the house part. Some time passes and we end up at the other side of the gas station, the house part. It looks very country, run down, and a bit messy. They was a strange mannequin that looked like the man in the painting. The dark setting did not help. Here, we met the family and they said they fellowship every week and honor the man in the painting. They say they feel like he’s with them and it was true you could feel his presence, but it was not ominous. This is were the dream starts going downhill. The family begins to celebrate by singing playing instruments and getting drunk. While doing this somehow I got the inclination that they were casting a spell to resurrect the man using the mannequin as a body. They did so. But, the man did not exude the same presence. Now it was sinister and they felt it as well. His face looked melted and there really were maggots coming from the side of his mouth. He marched forth past them and exited out the house. I can’t remember the rest too well bc it started to get convoluted but I remember the man getting more intelligible as time went on and he needed a wife or something and stole a car. I woke up after the car part
