alligator ate a man and it was my fault?

TW: blood i was at a hotel pool and it was pretty packed. i was holding three snakes and they were my pets (idk man). i was with my boyfriend and we weren’t in the pool yet. at the pool there was a section of the pool that was cut off from the rest so it was like a little pond and there was an alligator in it. it was like the hotel pet or something. there were like four hotel workers at the pool at the time and there was just one in the water cleaning the alligator pond. i had to go do something so i handed the snakes off to my boyfriend but he accidentally dropped one. i tried to catch it but it slithered away too fast and got into the alligator pond. the alligator just snapped it up. the alligator then went blood crazy and just tore into the man that was cleaning the pond. i screamed so loud and ran back to my boyfriend. there was blood everywhere. my boyfriend kept apologizing because he dropped my snake and the alligator ate it but didn’t even mention the guy he ate. then later the three other workers walked passed me and gave me the dirtiest looks because i got their friend eaten.
