Te Soñe

I’m pulling into the parking lot at a thrift store and see Kailyn’s car in the lot, and try not to get excited. I spend time looking around and when I get in line I see my friend Josh with a cart full of clothing. I walk over and ask if he goes thrifting often, to which he responds “No but I’m bout to, I look sick boi.” After talking with him for some time the store closes and all the lights dim, but for some reason I’m still inside. Kailyn comes down from a stairwell that wasn’t there when the store was open, and when we see each other we’re both silent for a bit. I stretch my arms out for a hug and she laughs and wraps her arms around me. “I missed you so much” I say with tears welling up. “So much?” She whispers and puts her hand on my face.
