Volcano eruption

A small group of friends were walking along the single dirt road to Hana at night in Maui, no one was nearby. I looked at the nearest mountain and a sudden beam shot upwards. I panicked and showed my friends who just stared at it in awe, none believed it was a volcano. After a minute or so the one single beam turned into a massive one ~100m wide of lava, ash and rock. Fear set in and we fled.
