Creepy feeling

I was at this house and it had like stairs that went up to a balcony that wrapped around this bedroom on the 2nd floor and the bedroom belonged to my ex boyfriend but I think we were still together because I was looking for him. It was pitch black everywhere and I went up to the room and the whole time I just felt scared. And I turned on a light and didn't see him there but I kept hearing like footsteps coming from like the driveway or whatever was beneath the stairs and I was too afraid to see if it was him or someone else.
