my family is on a road trip. we are heading out west for a week (oregon?). as we drive I mention that I've never been this far West and dad, who is driving replies, "well now you have." the last few moments of the drive take us up to a high elevation and the change in air pressure is disconcerting. we park in the neighborhood where we are staying. it is both a regular Residencial neighborhood and an area that includes houses for other families staying on week long trips. we get out of the car and begin to put on our large backpacks that we have used as suitcases. mine is very light and I realized that I had joined my family's drive straight from work and had not actually packed a thing. I tell this to mom and start laughing pretty hard. I wake up.
