I had the weirdest dream. I dreamt I was living in this post apocalyptic world where everything was trashed. I was living with my son in an apartment overcrowded with other people. So one day everyone starts acting weird, like talking with super monotone voices and robotic and stuff. And i realize that somehow these people were given like this special drug that makes them like this, and the only ones in the apartment who aren't like that are me and my son. So I try to blend in and act the same as everyone else, which works. At the same time I try to find a way out of the apartment so my son and I can escape. So then, as I'm trying to take my blood for some reason I realize that my son is missing. So I silently freak out trying to find him while still trying to remain calm and robotic, but soon I realize that he's gone and I need to get out of there. Then, as im trying to get out of there, the people realize I'm not like them and they begin to attack me. Luckily I am able to get out onto the streets to escape them. Fast forward a few years later, I know my son is dead and I am traveling the barren, wasteland streets that are overcrowded with nothing but garbage and zombies. I have a few people I travel with, but soon things go to hell when the zombies begin chasing us. They chase us through subway tunnels and pretty soon it's just me, this one guy, and a girl I consider my best friend. We run a lot, trying to figure out a way to cure this disease everyone has, and at one point we think we find this cure. It works for a time, and people start un-zombifying. However, just when we think everything is good, people start returning to their zombie forms and attacking us. We go running again, and my group meets this guy who has this special power. He says that there is no hope left for humanity, so we should just give up and move on to the next life. I'm vehemently against, and so is my best friend in the dream. We continue trying to escape the zombies and finding out why the cure didn't work. In the end, everyone is trapped in the middle of the city with zombies all around us. The guy who suggested we give up is there, and he keeps saying humanity is done. I'm freaking out because I don't want to give up and as I look around all I see are zombies closing in. Everyone around me tells me I should just give up. They tell me humanity is done for and that they're so tired. My best friend isn't with the group - we got separated. So at this point I'm sobbing trying to make a decision. And then I start remembering my son before everything went to hell, and I look at the guy telling me to give up and I tell him okay. I tell him to end it. So as we all prepare ourselves to die and the zombies close in, he puts his hands together and suddenly a huge ball of black and orange emits from him hands. It grows larger and larger, enveloping all of us until there's a huge white light and a soundless explosion. When I wake up, I realize that I'm dead. I'm back in the apartment I shared with my son and a bunch of other people; however, it's cleaner and has a lighter atmosphere. Everyone is so happy and smiling and there's an easy air about it. Everyone I ever met is in that apartment, and even the guy who ended it all is there, smiling and saying welcome home. In the end, I'm so happy to have my friends and son around me, and it fades out with me hugging my son and smiling. However, the pov switches from me to my best friend who is still alive. She's on this boat in what looks like the middle of the ocean. It's dark and stormy and the waves are really rough. When she talks, she's talking with a guy. The guy confirms not only my death, but the deaths of most of the world as well. He also says that most of the earth's lands have been destroyed, leaving only the oceans to spread across the world. The dream ends with my friend nodding sullenly.
